| The Journal Club takes place at CAMT in the UCAIR library, on Fridays between 1:30 and 2:30 P.M. Each 2nd Thursday the UCAIR Seminar will be held at 12:00 P.M. in the Radiology Large Conference Room in the hospital. Journal Club helps disseminate knowledge of research being conducted at other institutions and provides a venue for students to practice their speaking skills. Journal Club presentations are stand-alone talks lasting 30 to 45 minutes, including discussion. Times may vary depending on the speaker. Generally, the speaker reviews a journal article in their field of research. Both faculty and students participate. The UCAIR Seminars provide a forum for developing collaborations and for strengthening the connection between medical imaging research and clinical practice. UCAIR Seminars are given once monthly by imaging researchers, clinical researchers, and/or clinicians. Both a research and a clinical presentation may be given at the same seminar. Times may vary depending on the number of speakers and topic, but the presentation and discussion are typically concluded in 50 minutes. Topics include current research and/or clinical practice. Pizza is served prior to the presentation. Note to speakers: Powerpoint is available at both venues. If you are unable to give a talk at the scheduled time, please find a substitution and contact me as soon as possible. | ||
